Your journey lives on your device
All game progress — quests, XP, notebook, routes, itineraries, exam results — is stored only in your browser (localStorage). It never leaves your device unless you join a class or export a backup file, and both of those are your action. The backup file is yours: store or delete it as you wish.
Classrooms
When a student joins a class with a code, their device syncs a snapshot to the teacher's dashboard: the display name they typed, aggregate counters (quests answered, accuracy by track, XP) and exam scores — never answer texts, never an e-mail, never an account. We advise using first names or nicknames. Free pilot classes and their data self-delete after 14 days; licensed class data is removed on request.
AI features
The trip planner, narrator, hints and class summaries are generated by an AI model via OpenRouter. Requests carry place names, quest texts and aggregate progress numbers — never student names or contact details. Weekly class narratives are produced from aggregates only.
Analytics
We count anonymous events (a place page was viewed, an outbound partner link was clicked) with no cookies, no user identifiers and no stored IP addresses — just totals that tell partners how their listings perform.
Bookings and inquiries
If you send a booking request or a partnership inquiry, the contact details you type are stored so the matter can be handled, and a booking request is shared with the one partner you chose — nobody else. Booking records are kept up to 400 days for accounting, then expire automatically.
Shared travel plans
A shared plan link is public to anyone who has it, for 180 days. Plans contain places, dates and tips — no names or contact details.
Abuse protection
To keep the free AI features available to everyone, requests are rate-limited per IP address. The counters live at most two hours and store nothing beyond the count.
